An heirloom is defined as a valuable object that has belonged to a family for several generations. Many times the perceived value of such items is more psychological than monetary
These protected and cherished keepsakes help a family not only quietly reflect on their personal history but also form emotional and psychological ties to a distant past.
Baseball cards from bygone days, hockey/baseball souvenirs, favorite family photographs and even at times beer steins fall into this category.
