Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge – Summer’s End

“There is something deep within us that sobs at endings. Why, God, does everything have to end? Why does all nature grow old? Why do spring and summer have to go?” ~ Joe L. Wheeler

This week the Wednesday Challenge from partner Susan and myself is  SUMMER’S END.

The summer season will end soon for the majority of the world. Autumn arrives next week and the extremely hot temperatures the world experienced will be over for another year.

Outdoor lawn furniture, propane barbecue sets and the other accoutrements of the season will be carefully placed into storage. We welcome the arrival of autumn and eagerly anticipate the seasonal fact that the leaves will change colors, the morning air becomes a bit cooler but invigorating for a brief stroll.

This week, Susan and I invite you to share with us your sentiments about the transition from summer to autumn. Are you ready for the cooler autumn breezes or will you long for those warmer days of summer?

As always, our challenge is flexible so please interpret our challenge in any way you wish – Words, Pictures, Poetry or Rhyme.
