“Life is like a rollercoaster, live it, be happy, enjoy life.” ~ Avril Lavigne
This week the Wednesday challenge from partner Susan and myself is FAIRGROUNDS.
A fairground is defined as an area where outdoor fairs, circuses, or exhibitions are held —often used in the plural with singular construction.
The warmer weather of summer is the ideal time of year when travelling fairs, carnivals, side shows and all sorts of hawkers attempt to lure the public to set foot on the site and indulge in the offerings presented there.
Human beings are always seeking immediate gratification for whatever they do. That is just the nature of the beast. Fairgrounds offer thrill seekers the opportunity to satisfy this inner wild side to themselves.
Roller coaster rides, towering Ferris wheels, parachute drop rides and the like offer these folks the chance to go beyond the day-to-day experiences and live on the edge. Perhaps playing games of chance or winning a kewpie doll or large teddy bear for your grandchild interest you.
This week Susan and I ask you to tell us of your favorite amusement ride, the games of chance, cotton candy treat or whatever entices you to visit such a place.
As always, our challenge is flexible so please interpret in any way that suits you – Words, Pictures, Poetry or Rhyme.
