“Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain. “-Henry David Thoreau
This week’s Wednesday Challenge on partner Susan and my site is GARDEN ART.
A B S T R A C T G A R D E N A R T O R A B S T R A C T I O N?
Gnomes, swans even flamingoes have earned a respected place in many gardens and well-manicured lawns. Its man’s attempt to compliment the natural world with a creation that is both light-hearted and inspirational.
Sometimes what is placed on a front lawn or garden defies interpretation. The above photo fits nicely into this definition. Last week I got up earlier than usual, opened the patio drapes and noticed this outside on the front lawn.
I splashed some cold water on my face, put on my glasses and took another look. It was a shopping cart abandoned during the night by a person unknown. The early morning fog had lifted and I realized what it was.
This week we invite you to give us your opinion on garden art. Do you have any in your own garden? Do you favor gnomes, swans or flamingoes? Let us know.
As always, our challenge is flexible so please interpret in any way that suits you – Words, Pictures, Poetry or Rhyme.
