This week’s challenge on partner Susan and my site is Gadgets.
Gadgets – do you have a favorite or is your storage area filled with unopened gizmos that you once thought you needed and then the necessity of the moment directed your attention to another more important gadget?
My favorite gadget right now is the Air Fryer I recently purchased with my Air Miles points. There was a real need to lower my electric costs and improve my health by using less oil in the good old deep fryer — the one with the spurting oils, messy stovetops and of course at times overcooked French fries and onion rings.
The air fryer was in my home for only three days before I got the urge to take it out of the box and get to work using it. Last year I purchased the Ninja Ultra Prep touted as ” the ultimate food and drink maker.” Right.
That one is still in its shipping box. But I bought it last year when I was moving to new accommodations and placed it on a high shelf in my new suite not to hide it but put it in a spot that is “easily attainable”.
The chicken thighs cooked in the air fryer turned out better tasting and less greasy than Colonel Sanders’. What an accomplishment that was and I did not use any of his twelve once-secret recipe spices.
