This week the Wednesday Challenge from partner Susan and myself is FARMERS’ MARKETS.
Spring is the time of the year when the farmer’s markets make their annual reappearance in local strip malls. Specially selected venues cater to those folks who enjoy the garden-fresh variety without the commercial packaging and higher prices associated with the large commercial supermarkets.
Last Sunday I visited a nearby market and was pleasantly surprised at the variety of items offered there. In addition to the freshly grown vegetables, other items of personal interest included Kraft beer, ethnic foods ( Chinese onion buns and a good assortment of Greek foods) were offered in a casually relaxed environment.
This week partner Susan and I invite you to share your own opinions and attitudes about these types of venues. Have you ever visited one? Did you find the items offered there appealing? Did you discover a special offer that you could not refuse to purchase? Tell us all.
As always the challenge is flexible, feel free to do it your way. Words or Pictures, Poetry, or Rhyme.
