“Those who divorce aren’t necessarily the most unhappy, just those who neatly believe their misery is caused by one other person. – Alain De Botton.
This week’s weekend challenge on partner Susan and my site is the word DIVORCE.
Many earlier country and western songs glamorize divorce as the ultimate solution to a marital situation that has soured.
The song lyrics are mesmerizing and if a person in an unhappy marriage listens to the song often enough he/she will begin to believe it is the answer for them. The staged expression of grief on the singer’s face is enough to cause the song to be a lighthouse for the troubled.
But many other folks in a troubled marriage seek a solution that does not divide up a family. They seek reconciliation and understanding before appearing before a judge.
This week Susan and I invite you to offer your own take on this last resort solution.
Don’t forget – the challenge is flexible and up to you to interpret, feel free to do it your way. Words or Pictures, we don’t mind.
