Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge – Gift Return

“Christmas is the season when you buy this year’s gifts with next year’s money. ” ~Author Unknown.

Editorial Note

My partner Susan is still recuperating and as such, I am more than happy to provide the challenge for this weekend’s blog. She is doing fine and hopes to be back in the saddle soon. 🙂

This weekend’s challenge is GIFT RETURN.

Christmas week has for some of us become a time of pleasant memories and daily enjoyment of the gifts that thoughtful family and friends have graciously bestowed upon us.

For other gift recipients, it seems that in their minds they received the wrong gift entirely and that the saving grace through it all was the retention of the sales receipt that enabled them to return to the store of purchase and exchange the wrong gift they received for the one they actually desire.

With this in mind, partner Susan and I encourage you to describe your own experiences as you tried to return the wrong gift for the right reason to a store that was crammed full of shoppers like yourself trying to right this seasonal wrong.

As always the challenge is flexible, so please interpret in any way you wish – Words or Pictures, Poetry or Rhyme, you choose.
