This week the Wednesday Challenge on partner Susan and my site is THE CAR WASH.
Can you remember the time when washing the family car was a weekly event in which all members took part in making the vehicle as clean and as free from dust and debris as possible?
Everyone in the family was assigned their particular chore ranging from using a gigantic sponge to get the vehicle soapy; holding the lawn hose to blast the entire vehicle free of the suds, and finally having everyone grab their own soft cloth to dry the thing off.
Dad assigned himself the task of personally applying a goodly amount of that expensive auto wax ( usually Turtle Wax) to put the shine and brilliance back into the vehicle. The family watched as he skillfully applied the wax in as professional a manner as possible.
Today having your vehicle washed and waxed has taken on a high tech perspective. You drive to your favorite service station and can select the type of pampering and cleaning you want for your vehicle.
For this challenge we invite you to share with us how you feel about modern-day car washes or relate your first experiences washing, scrubbing polishing and waxing your own vehicle.
