“Life would be better if girls had mute buttons, boys had edit buttons, bad times had fast forward buttons and good times had pause buttons.”- jarofquotes.
This week’s Wednesday Challenge on partner Susan and my site is BUTTON JARS.
“Every woman should have a button jar to save her memories in”.
The above quote was overheard by me at a bookstore I was visiting recently.
As I thought about that comment I began to realize that there is more than a grain of truth to what she was trying to say. Boys collect bubble gum cards and marbles ( at least they did when I was a boy many, many years ago) and girls seem to collect buttons in both jars and boxes.
I remember when my mother had to do a button repair on some of my clothing she would have a definite smile on her face and reminisce about the good old days when this button first made its way into her life. The button jar offered her welcomed experiences from her past.
This week we invite you to tell us of you own button jar (box) and the way the colorful buttons help you to relive memorable experiences from your past. Stories or photos of your own button jars are readily welcomed.
Did you inherit a button jar from your mother or grandmother? Do the buttons represent important items from your family’s past? Tell us about it. Words or Pictures the choice is yours.
