Wednesday Challenge – Precocious Pets2

This week’s Wednesday’s Challenge on partner Susan and my site is PRECOCIOUS PETS.

Last year around this time I posted an article about the way in which pets add so much to a person’s life and that the owner/pet relationship dissolves over time. They start to share things on a higher level of existence.

I chose the word “precocious” over the expected “playful” label due to the fact that over time a pet and its owner develop an almost human bond of understanding, companionship and trust.

Pet owners appreciate the fact that over time they develop a special psychological connection to their pet and that many times the object of their affection will  observe that their owner is sad or lonely or needs to have a smile put on their face.

The result is at times outlandishly humorous behavior on the part of our pets in its attempt to makes us feel better about ourselves and life in general.

My hamster, Ziggy, was always there for me when I was burning the midnight cramming for a test. Whenever I tried to fall asleep he would run at full speed on his wheel and bang it loudly enough against the cage’s metal wall to keep me awake through the early morning hours. 

I am quite sure that my partner Susan has experienced this same type of close camaraderie with Woody the family canine.

This week we encourage you to tell us your own tales of fun and adventures with your favorite pet and elaborate on the ways it has done precociously outlandish but almost human things to keep you in a good mood when you were having a bad day.
