Wednesday Challenge – Potholes

“I would not vote for the mayor. It’s not just because he didn’t invite me to dinner, but because on my way into town from the airport there were such enormous potholes.” — Fidel Castro

This week’s challenge on partner Susan and my site is POTHOLES.

It is the time of the year when we all have that desperate urge to pile all our family members into the car and head out on the highways looking for fun and adventure and whatever.

Unfortunately many times unwary drivers discover that the road ahead of them is riddled with dangerous, deep and deadly potholes  — remnants of those times when ice, snow or rain weakened the structure of the roads and made them hazardous for driving.

Hitting such a deep and wide abyss can be injurious to your health and costly to repair especially if you have travelled far from home.

Many times neighborhood streets, shopping malls and parking lots harbor these hidden menaces.

This week Susan and I ask you to capture a photo of potholes that you might run across in your travels. Remember to drive carefully if you suspect your own local area might harbor such menaces.

As usual, anything goes, tell us about it or show us, or maybe write a poem
