“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.”— Andy Warhol
The midweek word/photo challenge on Susan and my site is Family Albums. And don’t forget our word/photo challenges are now combined, either/or.
Do you have any of those treasured and cherished family photo albums that were handed down to you by your mother or great grandmother and which you periodically thumb through to relive and revive feelings and emotions and memories of friends long gone?
This is the electronic age and programs like Instagram are becoming the current rage of taking photos and sharing them instantly online for the world to enjoy.
But do you secretly have a desire to start a family album or yearly photo journal which not only updates the members of your immediate family but also photographically preserves palpable images of the good times (and maybe not so good times) that have transpired the past year?
Many grandparents I know love sharing the family photo album with the younger members of their family. They enjoy the feel of the album and the turning of each and every page offers a glimpse into past family adventures and memories.
This week you are invited to share with Susan and myself your take on this issue.
The electronic modes of communication are instantaneous and exciting but not as rewarding as sharing the hard covered family photo album with a grandson or granddaughter on a cold and snowy winter day while sitting on the couch and sipping a hot cup of cocoa.
It is not too late in this new year to make this a New Year resolution to revive a family tradition of affixing photos to an album and updating its contents on a periodic basis.
Why not recapture your own Instagram photos, print them out and then paste them in your own new and revised family album?
