Word Prompt Stocking Stuffers

E V E N   S A N T A   H A S  H I S  F I N A N C I A L  L I M I T S  

The word prompt this week on partner Susan and my site is STOCKING STUFFERS.

These are not the traditionally expected items we as adults expect to find in our own over sized Xmas stockings like cologne, woolen socks, perfumes or Reese’s Pieces. These are the more  insidious and unexpected costs that seem to always happen around this time of the holiday season.

Last year the car needed a new set of tires and so I had to re allocate my intended gift buying savings to purchase the tires so that I could be mobile enough to visit the shopping malls and spend even more money trying to balance  the whole Christmas – family gift scenario.

This year the sudden appearance of a dental problem on one of my front teeth will set me back a few dollars to repair  so that I can make merry at the appropriate Christmas dinner and not spoil the festive spirit by moping loudly about an aching front tooth. Bah . Humbug.

I am sure that I am not the only person in the world that this happens to and that many of you have also experienced this same situation that has turned you from a jolly Xmas elf into a first rate Grinch lacking any trace of the festive season ahead.
