Word Prompt Christmas

“We are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.” ―Laura Ingalls Wilder

I captured this photo of one display located in Santa’s Castle at West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta. Santa’s throne with all the trimmings were there but the flow of youngsters waiting to see the old guy was at this stage of the game almost non existent.

This week’s word prompt CHRISTMAS  on Susan and my site asks you if you enjoy a traditional or modernistic view of the holiday season.

The American Thanksgiving Day celebrations is next week and Black Friday with its price reductions, sales enticements, and impromptu manager floor sales will be in full swing.

Are you the type of person who does his/her Xmas shopping all year round taking advantage of the sales bargains on a twelve month basis or do you wait until December to join the ranks and files of last minute shoppers hoping to save a bundle on your gift purchases?

On the other hand do you still send snail mail Christmas cards to friends, family and loved ones or have you opted out to use ecards and other electronic forms of modern day communication?

My partner Susan and I would like to have your take on the topic.
