“I think if human beings had genuine courage, they’d wear their costumes every day of the year, not just on Halloween. Wouldn’t life be more interesting that way? And now that I think about it, why the heck don’t they? ” ― Douglas Coupland, The Gum Thief

Thursday is Halloween and to honor this most scary and celebrated night of the year my partner Susan and I have chosen the word HALLOWEEN for you to mull around in your heads and treat us to your opinion on the topic.
The spirit of the day is still alive and well but the house-to-house trick or treating has been largely replaced by community centers hosting festive and safe parties for young ghosts, goblins and pirates.
In my day neighborhood trick or treating was the norm and children were safe to eat the candies they gathered and walk the streets unmolested.
High rise apartment complexes have replaced the house to house hustle and the thrill of seeing the children on the front porch on that spirited night has faded into the distant past.
How do you view Halloween? Do you miss the handing out of candied treats to young ghosts and goblins who visit your front steps? Do you miss nibbling on the candy treats you were handing out to the children.
Tell us if you think that the concept of Halloween is fading or is it still in full swing even in this modern time.
