Photo Challenge Blue

“Blue is the color of peace. Water is blue. I like the color blue because it just puts me at peace. The patriotic symbol is blue. I just like blue.” — Antonio Brown

The Saturday Photo Challenge is Blue

As we begin the month of April Susan and I have chosen a photo challenge relating to the color BLUE as the shade most appropriate to welcome the return of spring with its blue skies, fresh air and babbling brooks. It is a supportive color that makes one feel safe and secure.

Blue is the one shade in your box of crayons which could be nicknamed the Mike Pence of colors: it is a team player; does not steal the scene even though its presence in one is essential; offers a subtle shade to the busy setting;  and is noticed even though it acts as the perennial wall flower. It is both demure and visually effective..

In the above wall mural blue offers both a dramatic flare to the overall  theme of the portrait without stealing the show from the other more flamboyant colors. The eye appeal of the scene would be diminished if the artist had chosen another color to complete the work.
