Word Prompt Memory

“Life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quickly you hardly catch it going.” —  Tennessee Williams

This week your Midweek Word Prompt here at Weekly Prompts is MEMORY.

H O W  G O O D   I S  Y O U R  M E M O R Y  ?

They say that an elephant never forgets but as far as you are concerned how good is your memory? Is it as dynamic and focused as it once was or do you find yourself forgetting simple, everyday things but remembering events from long ago?

I find myself writing lists when I go to the grocery store whenever I have a number of items to purchase for either the week or the weekend.

Many times I admit that I forget to write items on “the list'” and as a result make a few additional trips to the market to ensure the larder is filled with the items I need.

On the other side of the coin I also buy more than what I really need and a simple trip to the supermarket for one or two essential items ends up as a three or four grocery bag extravaganza.

I just love the manager specials and always tempted to stop by the deli department or bakery display to see what goodies are being offered on the day of my visit. And there always seems to be a few somethings that attract  my attention.

This week’s word prompt is MEMORY. My partner Susan and I throw down the proverbial gauntlet and challenge you to tell us how you rate your own memory’s performance. Be candid. Be coy. Be honest. But do take a creative stab at this word challenge
