“Advertising is the rattling of a stick inside a swill bucket.” ~ George Orwell.
This weekend, GC and I have chosen ADVERTISING as your Saturday Photo Challenge.
Advertising is everywhere, often subliminal, whilst in other instances it’s pretty much in your face, such as supermarkets, billboards and television. It’s even reared its ugly head on WP e-mail notifications from free sites.
So, what we’d like to know is, has Advertising Hype influenced your decision to purchase a product? If so, what did you buy?
It’s interesting to note here that the Oxford Dictionary of English defines Hype as – A deception carried out for the sake of publicity!
GC and I invite you to share an example of a product that was purchased due to the advertising hype. Alternatively, perhaps you could share something that interests you because of the advertising surrounding the product.
As usual feel free to interpret this challenge in any way you wish, photos, word prompt, poetry etc. Anything goes.
To take part: Write a new post and include our name (Weekly Prompts) plus the challenge title, highlight the challenge and create a pingback by copying the link above. If unsure, check our menu bar and read our recently updated How To page.
Please note: Pingbacks for all challenges are displayed at the bottom of the page where you would normally see the comments and in order for the pingbacks to be easily spotted and displayed correctly, normal comments on challenge pages are disabled. Your comments are warmly welcome on the Talk-to-Us page.
