“Advertising is the rattling of a stick inside a swill bucket.” ~ George Orwell.
This weekend, GC and I have chosen ADVERTISING as your Saturday Photo Challenge.
Advertising is everywhere, often subliminal, whilst in other instances it’s pretty much in your face, such as supermarkets, billboards and television. It’s even reared its ugly head on WP e-mail notifications from free sites.
So, what we’d like to know is, has Advertising Hype influenced your decision to purchase a product? If so, what did you buy?
It’s interesting to note here that the Oxford Dictionary of English defines Hype as – A deception carried out for the sake of publicity!
GC and I invite you to share an example of a product that was purchased due to the advertising hype. Alternatively, perhaps you could share something that interests you because of the advertising surrounding the product.
As usual feel free to interpret this challenge in any way you wish, photos, word prompt, poetry etc. Anything goes.
