Word Prompt – Optimism

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.” ― Roy T. Bennett.

Optimism is contagious while pessimism is infectious.

The contagious nature of optimism lifts the spirits, excites the soul and has a long-lasting, positive effect on one’s mind and body.

Pessimism is infectious in the same way that one rotten apple can infect and spoil a barrel of neighboring apples. This negative view of life entraps more people than its opposite can ever hope to enlist.

This is the time of the year when the colored lights, songs of good cheer and dark, dreary days takes a heavy toll on a person’s view of themselves and life.

As my blog partner Susan W. recently wrote in another blog article this is the advent time of the year. A time for hope, optimism and cheer.

Do you see yourself as an optimist, pessimist or realist? Is it overly naive to expect a person to cultivate a positive attitude  throughout the year? Tell us how you feel about it. –gc
